Rally Sunday 2008. On Sunday, September 7, Rincon blessed our learners and teachers and shared our passion for ministry with a church wide lunch and information extravaganza.
Justin's Goodbye. Rincon said goodbye to Justin Raffa who led Rincon's music ministry to new heights during his two year tenure as Minister of Music. Justin and Molly head off to WA to begin a new phase in their lives. God speed!
Church Servant Retreat 2008. On Saturday, September 6, 41 members of Rincon met to be church together. We shared history and vision seeking to answer the question, where is God leading us?
Cacti Awards April 2008. Rincon's traditional all chruch talent show became the first annaul Cacti Awards in 2008. From poetry reading to rock 'n roll and hamster dancing, we shared our talents durig a night of great laughter and fun!
Palm Sunday 2008. We gathered in the courtyard with palms. We let go of our sins by writing them down and burning them in the fire pit. We processed into the Sanctuary, laid our palms on the communion table and rejoiced together.
On Sunday, May 11, Pentecost Sunday, eight new mebers joined our faith community. We also celebrated Mother's Day with a clothing drive for the Casa Paloma Women's Program.
Rally Sunday 2007:Rincon kicked off the program year with the recognition and appreciation of all learners and teachers. The Children's choir sang with the women of the Summer choir. After worship we shared information about our ministries and lunched together in the shade.
On July 1, 2007 we shed tears, shared laughter, celebrated holy communion and formally released The Reverend Dr. James Lumsden as Senior Minister of Rincon United Church of Christ.
Farewell Luncheon 6-29-07 We gathered to share a meal, stories, and symbols of frriendship and remembering. We laughed and we cired and we said goodbye to James and Dianne.
Stranger's Big Gig 6-29-07 Still photos cannot capture the energy level, the feeling of community and fun we shard at Stranger's Big Gig concert. As promised, there was even dancing in the aisle!
Youth Sunday/Mothers Day May13 2007. We celcbrated the gifts our youth bring with a service prepared and led by them. We recognized teachers and honored mothers and celebrated the music ministry of Thomas Azar. We fellowshiped before worship with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Christian Education Ministry Team and after worship with cake to honor Thomas.
Women's Retreat 2007. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Amado Inn, women of Rincon UCC shared our stories. We laughed together, we prayed in words and movement, we connected and we grew spiritually.
Mardi Gras 2007. On Saturday, February 17th, Rincon celebrated it's 10th anniversary Mardi Gras with food, crafts, children's games, rides, and much more...
Rincon's youth and Called to Care team enjoyed a chili supper before making miniature candles and Christmas cards which were taken to Rincon's residents at the Cascades. Everyone joined in Christmas caroling and sharing memories of Christmas past.
