On April 25, 2009 Grace Fellowship Intrnational celebrated 40 years of God's faithfulness. Staff and friends gathered at Pigeon Forge, TN for a luncheon, fellowship, music, testimonies and ministry reports.

Blessed Reassurance: Finding Security in Christ arrived from the publisher. John had meetings in Huntington WV and Proctorville, OH.

The GFI conference, workshop, and Solomon School were held in Pigeon Forge, TN. Nov. 7-15th. Although we had less attending, the response and fellowship were wonderful.

John joined Edmund Spieker (with Ursula and her husband Pedro) for a Fermata in NE Brazil October 10-12. About 48 attended the retreat about three hours north of Araguaina. Each couple received Portuguese Handbook to Happiness and a CD of bilingual grace teaching. John flew Knoxville, Washington DC, Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Araguaina and back.

John was able to teach a two week course on Christ-Centered Counseling at ABECAR Seminary (2004). Later, he joined Edmund Spieker of CiM in teaching four Fermatas (2005, 2006) to pastoral couples in different cities.

John presented a conference in Sydney in Nov. 2005. He was able to visit daughter, Laura, who was there completing her Nursing degree at the University.

John was invited by Crossways to Life (Kitchener, Ontario) to present a Christ is Life Conference Nov. 13-16. (Audio CDs are available from CTL.) This gave him the opportunity to minister at Winona Gospel Church on the 11th. An extra treat was the following weekend spent with daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Matt! Contacts were made with Emmanuel Bible College and Heritage Bible College.

Nov. 3-11 2007 was packed with training events in Tennessee. The Exchanged Life Conference, Counseling Workshop, and Solomon School were days of special blessings. Bob Lewis and Teresa Long received their Diploma of Biblical Counseling from the GFI Counseling Institute.

John was invited to give seminars at the Chicago Mar Thoma Church for their Family Life Retreat (Oct. 26-28). A GFI premarital seminar was presented to the youth on Friday night and Saturday morning. A couples seminar was given Saturday afternoon and evening. John spoke in the Sunday morning service on Ephesians 5:18-6:4. The denomination is based in south India (where GFI has a counseling center).

John Woodward and GFI board member Peter Frey met with eastern Europe GFI staff and trainees in Iasi and Bucharest. Sessions included testimonies, ministry reports, strategic planning, and training.
