This album shows one picture of each of the intarsia pieces I have completed. The horse was done in 2001 were as the others were completed from October 2006 to most recent time.

This sailboat intarsia project is made from Western Red Cedar, Aspen and Walnut wood. This one was somewhat easy for me after doing the complex Mule intarsia previously. It took me about 25 hours to complete.

I attended my second Intarsia class at Roberts Studio. It was an in Intermediate Level Class this time. The project was more complex and inculed much more texture than the beginner class. We were not able to finish the project while at the class so I had to conplete it when I got back home. Here is result of my newly learned skills.

My daughter-in-law, Ligia, asked me to build a toy box for my grandson Jaden before my knee surgery last year. I said that I would but I just did not get to it until now. She wanted it to be a toy box that Jaden could keep for years, even once he got much older. I designed and built this box of of Alder. Some Alder plywood is used but most of the construction is of solid wood. I placed a brass plate on the lid indicating that I design and built it for my gandson Jaden in June 2008.

I needed to replace an old medal Air Conditioner vent in the kitchen so it would match the newly refaced cabinets. I decided to make my own.

This is my first attempt at making my own intarsia. I started with a small 4" X 6" picture taken when Shawnee was a few years old and ended uo with a completed intarsia work. I used my computer, art and woodworking skills to make this intarsia.

Another intarsia project that reminds me of my Louisiana roots. A Brown Pelican made of Western Red Cedar and Aspen.

I decide to put some of my scrap wood to use and made some clipboards. One is made of Aromatic Cedar closet liner and the other from Oak and Louisiana Cypress.

The water can is made of Alder, the leaves of Poplar and the tulips and shaded areas are of Western Red Cedar. There are no stains or paint used on the wood, only varnish. It took me a little less than a week to make the completed project.

I wanted to make a project that used the Pocket Hole System for joining the parts. I selected this project from one of the Pocket Hole books. The book made the clock using Oak but I decided to make it of Alder instead. Alder is a finer gain wood. I used Walnut Pocket Hole plugs on the door front for accent. The book mounted the face of the clock using two exposed decorated bolts. I dicided I did not want to see any bolts and mounted the face using four button magnets. You just pull the face off when you need to change batteries.

I need to make a couple of aids for my tablesaw. The first is a wooded fence fixture used for routing and the second is a cross cut sled to take the place of my old panel cutter.

I had cut out all the pieces to make this intarsia project in April of 2007, just before my knee replacement. After many months on not being able to stand too long I got back into my woodwork and have completed this project.

Here is a small intarsia project I have done to use as an example during a trainning session I will be presenting in a future wood club meeting. It uses two kinds of wood: western red cedar and aspen.

My Dad made a little plant table for Kathy and I but did not get a chance to finish it before we visited him. He gave it to me broken down in pieces and undinished. I later sanded, stained and varnished it to complete the project. Here are the results of our combined efforts.

I refinished mom old living room furniture and made new slip covers. Then Kathy and I brought all the pieces over to Heath and Ligia's home to place in their living room. I believe the old furniture is nearly 60 years old. It looks pretty good now.

Here is my latest intarsia project. There are 75 pieces not counting the back board. Three types of wood. Mostly Western Red Cedar, plants are Poplar, and the white lines in the raod are Aspen. Took me a littel over a week to make it.

Here is another intarsia project I have completed. He is a small guy with a little red and white stain on some parts just to make him look more like Santa. He is made from Western Red Cedar, Aspen and Louisiana Cypress.

My latest completed intarsia project. It is made of 17 different types of wood. There is NO stain on anything. The colors are the natual color of each wood. I had to make 66 pieces and most had to be shaped. All pieces start on flat.

Here is another intarsia I just finished. It is life size and reminds me of how we see the squirrels on our bird feeders in the back yard.

Here is one of my woodworking projects. It is called Intarsia. He is made from Western Red Cedar, Aspen and Oak dowel. Only the Oak dowel and the backer board is stained.

I wanted to make a step stool for his shop so I could reach the top shelves and decided to make this one. However, since I made it out of oak it looks so nice it now sets in the kitchen.

We wanted to get a better view of our new garden so we changed the style of the railings around our deck. Here are some before, during construction, and after photos of the project.

Heath and Ligia asked me to build a swing for theirfront porch. Since the location was limited in wigth it had to be made a custom wigth to fit between the house and the porch post.
